The company is developing regenerative medicines (via gene therapy) to treat neurological, ocular, and hearing diseases, and currently in preclinical stage. The key scientific founder, Dr. Haibo Zhou, is a Principal Investigator at China Academy of Science, with extensive experiences on the discovery of genome editing tools and neurological disease treatments, and has authored more than 10 research articles published on high profile scientific journals. Genemagic obtained seed investment from a reputable biotech VC, Kaitai Capital, in 2021.
