职位介绍: Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, intellectually curious, and student-centered High School English Teacher who is passionate about working with adolescent learners in their final years of secondary education. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in upper-level English curricula, a commitment to academic rigor, and the ability to inspire students to become confident, critical readers and writers. Essential Responsibilities 1. Teaching & Learning 1. Deliver a rigorous, engaging English curriculum aligned with school standards and external examination frameworks, while demonstrating a strong capacity for curriculum innovation and development appropriate to high school learners. 2. Design and implement lessons that balance inductive and deductive teaching approaches, allowing students to engage with complex texts, develop analytical skills, and refine their own writing craft. 3. Integrate technology meaningfully into instruction to support research, collaboration, and preparation for university-level academic expectations. 4. Organize and lead well-structured, interactive classroom activities that promote critical thinking, debate, and sophisticated written and oral expression. 5. Use the CEFR framework to inform instruction and support students across a range of proficiency levels, particularly in academic language development. 2. Assessment & Progress Monitoring 1. Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with internal standards and external examination requirements (IGCSE, A Level, AP, etc.). 2. Provide timely, specific, and actionable feedback to support students in meeting high academic expectations. 3. Maintain accurate records of student progress, using assessment data to differentiate instruction and track growth toward university readiness. 4. Communicate student progress clearly to parents, guardians, and school leadership through regular updates, conferences, and written reports. 3. Student Development, Classroom Culture & Family Partnership 1. Build strong, respectful relationships with students aged 15–18, understanding their developmental needs and aspirations. 2. Practice firm but caring classroom management, holding students to high expectations while fostering independence, intellectual risk-taking, and self-advocacy. 3. Respect and celebrate student diversity, adapting instruction to meet varied learning needs, backgrounds, and strengths. 4. Believe in and actively work toward unlocking each student’s full potential, using differentiated instruction and individualized support where needed. 5. Maintain proactive, professional, and timely communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, achievement, and areas for development. 4. Collaboration, Professional Growth & School Contributions 1. Act as a collaborator, working closely with grade-level colleagues, learning support teachers, and the Head of English to ensure curriculum coherence and shared best practices. 2. Serve as a contributor to the wider school community, participating in departmental initiatives, professional development sessions, and school events. 3. Demonstrate a fast learner’s mindset, staying current with research on adolescent literacy, language acquisition, and innovative teaching practices. 4. Lead or co-lead student clubs, enrichment courses, or extracurricular activities that extend learning beyond the classroom and support student interests and development. 5. Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of English or school leadership. Qualifications 1. Master’s degree in English, Education, or related field. 2. Teaching license (e.g., PGCE, QTS) . 3. Native/near-native English proficiency (CEFR C2 or equivalent). 4. Minimum 3 years of full time international/bilingual high school English teaching experience (Grades 9–12, ages 15–18). 5. Strong understanding of the CEFR framework and experience using it to guide instruction and assessment. 6. Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative, student-centered lessons appropriate for high school learners. 7. Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom instruction to support research, analysis, and academic writing. 8. Excellent classroom management skills with a focus on fostering independence, responsibility, and intellectual engagement. 9. Strong communication skills and experience in parent partnership and feedback practices. 10. Shows respect for and interest in Chinese culture, with a willingness to engage meaningfully with the local context. 11. Brings an international perspective through meaningful engagement with English-speaking environments. 12. Respects and values diversity, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds. 13. Proven experience teaching one or more of the following curricula, with demonstrable expertise: ● IGCSE English as a Second Language (0511) or equivalent. ● IGCSE English as a First Language (0500) or equivalent. ● A Level / AS Level English Literature or Language. ● Pre AP English. ● AP English Lan or AP English Lit.
