Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Marketing Capabilities Development Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in defining the future capabilities required for our marketing organization to thrive. The ideal candidate will be a marketer at heart – someone deeply curious about the evolving marketing landscape, proactive in identifying new tools and techniques, and skilled at assessing their value for our team. You will diagnose current capability gaps, design innovative solutions, and lead initiatives to elevate the skills and effectiveness of our marketing function. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Marketing Capability Planning: • Define a phased vision and roadmap (1-year operational, 1-3 year strategic) for marketing capability development, tightly aligned with overall company and marketing strategy. • Continuously analyze market trends, technological shifts, competitive landscapes, and emerging consumer behaviors to identify critical current and future ("next-gen") marketing capabilities. • Partner with HR to integrate capability development needs into the broader marketing talent strategy (recruitment, development, retention). 2. Capability Diagnosis & Gap Analysis: • Establish and utilize robust diagnostic frameworks to regularly assess the current state of marketing capabilities across teams and levels, identifying critical gaps against target capabilities. • Consolidate analyses and prioritize capability uplift initiatives based on potential business impact. 3. Program Design & Solution Development: • Design, develop, or source comprehensive, blended learning programs (e.g., training, workshops, mentoring, rotations) to address prioritized capability gaps. • Lead the creation of high-quality, practical learning content, toolkits, case studies, and knowledge repositories aligned with marketing contexts. • Champion the optimization of marketing knowledge management systems/platforms for knowledge sharing and innovation. 4. Program Implementation & Enablement: • Develop and manage global/regional capability development calendars for efficient execution. • Provide guidance and support to marketing teams for effective capability building. • Orchestrate the implementation of capability development plans, monitoring progress. 5. Evaluation, Measurement & Continuous Improvement: • Analyze the data and feedback of capability improvement initiative to drive continuous improvement, optimizing programs and methodologies. 6. Budget Planning & Management: • Collaborate with Marketing Leadership, Finance, and HR to develop a justified annual budget plan for capability development, clearly articulating business value and expected ROI. • Manage the budget efficiently, allocating resources to high-impact areas and tracking investment returns. Key Capabilities Required for the Role • Strategic Acumen: Ability to link capability development directly to business and marketing strategy. Experience defining visions, roadmaps, and prioritizing based on impact. • Growth Mindset & Curiosity: Passionate marketer with a proven track record of proactively scanning for new marketing developments, tools, and techniques. • Collaboration & Influence: Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to build consensus and secure buy-in across Marketing teams and with partners in HR and Finance. Strong communication and presentation skills. • Cross-Cultural Understanding: Ability to navigate and adapt approaches for diverse cultural contexts within a global organization. Professional Background: • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Marketing. Experience of working in marketing capability centers of excellence within an organization, or experience of marketing Learning&capability development programs are preferred. • Familiarity with commonly used marketing methodologies, process and tools. • Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
