JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title : Deputy Regulatory Manager, Global Sourcing Organization Job Holder : New Reports to : Regulatory Manager, Global Sourcing Organization Supervises : nil Business : Global Sourcing Organization Duties and Responsibilities Leadership • Report into and collaborate with the GSO Regulatory Manager. • Under the direction of GSO senior management, collaborate with GSO Product Management and Supply Chain Team Leaders to solve problems, increase efficiency, promote teamwork and continually improve performance across all GSO functions and processes. • Be a role model for Brenntag/GSO Core Values and Code of Conduct. This includes demonstrating a safety mindset and ethical behavior in all internal and external activities, communications and relationships. • Support senior management to communicate with “one voice” regarding GSO activities and announcements. Compliance/Risk Management • GSO suppliers, their products and business activities conform to Brenntag requirements for safety, quality, trade compliance and social responsibility guidelines. • All GSO transactions conform to legal and regulatory requirements in source and destination countries and comply with relevant international standards. • GSO personnel understand, execute and document safety, regulatory and compliance KPIs in accordance with Brenntag/GSO policies. • Within the GSO Regulatory team scope, Work functionally with BSP regulatory team as GSO compliance representative Sustainability • Engage GSO suppliers in efforts to identify, document and improve sustainable manufacturing and operating practices in support of Brenntag sustainability strategy and TFS objectives. • Serve as GSO representative to China/APAC TFS region and work stream programs. Report on activities and initiatives to GSO management and Brenntag sustainability group in Essen. • Within the GSO Regulatory team scope, Work functionally with BSP regulatory team as GSO compliance representative • Work functionally with BSP regulatory team as GSO compliance representative Performance • Support GSO PMs to lead new and existing supplier audits and visits in accordance with necessary industry standards/certification, propose gaps and improvement plans accordingly, and monitor gap closure. • Able to challenge the reports from 3rd party company audits of our suppliers as and when necessary and provide own feedback and improvements. • Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Regulatory Manager Establish, communicate and monitor individual and team KPIs in support of Brenntag/GSO objectives. This includes but may not be limited to, o GSO employee safety programs and near miss reporting guidelines o Supplier audits, documentation and on-going compliance monitoring o Supplier compliance with Brenntag code of conduct o Non-conformance monitoring, follow-up, resolution and reporting o GSO compliance with regional compliance programs including ADD and REACH • Lead Compliance team members to identity and implement best practices to document, report and maintain GSO compliance. • Provide direct supervision of team members to support problem solving and other activities as needed to meet individual and team KPIs. • Develop, implement and maintain written SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure GSO compliance processes are clear, concise and well understood. Conduct periodic training of all affected GSO team members. Job Requirement/Specification: Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university is required. Master’s degree in Engineering or business Business Administration a plus. Experience: Minimum 10 or more required years’ experience in auditing, quality, safety, health and/or environment within the chemical or related industry. Others: Fluent in English (verbal and written) • Able to work effectively in the absence of daily direct supervision • Strong interpersonal and communication skills able to work effectively in a multi-culture team environment • Strong customer orientation • Mature organization skills with strong attention to detail • Goal and results driven • Highly motivated, committed, effective and supportive team member, able to work flexibly, quickly and accurately to achieve tight deadlines • Able to travel (domestic & international) as required to meet business needs • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint presentation skills
