Scope of Job: A crucial role to Park commercial success. It is a leading role on LLSHR retail management team. This role will be responsible for formulating LEGOLAND Park product assortment strategy, define product category and product line portfolio. This role needs to identify the market opportunities and liaise with LEGO retail global stakeholders, leverage the synergy from other parks in China or globe to achieve maximized retail commercial results. This role will bare P&L and manage product pricing and right mix to balance out stock turn over. The person on this role will lead a small buying team to make purchase from key suppliers of LEGO toy and other dozens of LEGO approved vendors. This product portfolio covers over 50 different product group and 2000+ active SKUs on a yearly basis. Key Objectives 1. To continuously develop LEGO brand and LEGOLAND associated park product portfolio and drive an effective growing and engaging retail business. 2. Integrated parks’ needs into sustainable product ideas 12 - 24 months ahead. 3. Drive product end to end merchandising and buying process into an effective and systematically set up. 4. Create product story to meet seasonality and campaign needs. 5. Bargain for best price before placing order. 6. Ensure an adaptive supplying model to catering seasonal and instant needs. 7. Year on year improved profitability status Job Responsibility Category Planning 1. leading the management of a multiple merchandise categories to support park and function growth needs. 2. Setting the product vision and align product strategy for multiple categories of business based on creative and financial input, along with market research and guests insights. Bespoke product opportunity exploration and lifetime management 3. Collaborating with a multi team of experts in developing strategic assortment that result in tangible memories for our Guest, surpassing their expectations, while meeting departmental financial objectives. 4. Balance the overall assortment mix which provide the demographic diversity, and a good/better/best strategy. 5. Hands on exploring new product opportunities and create guests’ needs in the park and generate newness and excitement. This covers engaging with key stakeholders from understanding their requirements, working with master vendor to develop a prototype, sourcing suppliers to delivery to market; 6. Collaborate with external design team and vendors to value engineer items. 7. Review samples with team. Give comments based on aligned strategy and financial objectives. 8. Responsible for the full life cycle management of products, and responsible for the commercial success of products. Liaise and communication with stakeholders 9. Liaise with rest of parks in China to pool the newness initiatives to ensure a local bespoke success across China Parks. 10. Communicate the strategic assortment direction to leadership, key cross-functional partners; 11. Management relationship, build strong ally with other China park counterparts and address issues at prompt manner. Market Study 12. Perform market analysis, competitive shop, and analyze historical sales trends to keep on top of current consumer and fashion trends; 13. Identify emerging trends and develop business strategies outlining strengths, missed opportunities, new opportunities and threats; Supply Chain 14. Work with vendors on their manufacturing processes and capacity efficiency to identify potential areas of cost savings and effectiveness for our business. 15. Drive product end to end process into an effective and systematically set up and ensuring an adaptive supplying model to catering seasonal and instant needs. Team Development 16. Ensure staff are treated as the number one priority as reflected in the annual employee surveys. All members of your team must feel valued, driven by the sense of achievement in a spirit of teamwork and fun. Lead by example setting the standards and conduct required. Building The Brand 17. Work with LEGO China to ensure that each product developed is fully compliant to LEGO licensing product requirements and development processes. External stakeholder management 18. Set high bar on vendor service and product quality and annual review to make reasonable vendor portfolio refreshment. 19. Establishes and controls supplier approval processes, including supplier quality assurance in accordance with corporate, local and national standards 20. Leverage well LEGO China resources in new product launch campaign as well cross branding opportunities to maximize LLSHR retail commercial outcomes. Health & Safety Senior Managers are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their Business units, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out and that safe working procedures are in place at all locations within their remits and that all employees under their management are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. Requirements: -International companies at entertainment industry, apparel, home accessories, or fashion industry, sportswear, or LEGO Toy are preferred. -Effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required. Requires the ability to plan effectively, identify and organize clear goals and targets, and present information clearly and concisely. -Must be able to cope with multiple tasks, and work within timeframes which necessitate working under pressure. -Language: Proficiency in verbal and written English (Merlin and LEGO). -At least 8 years of merchandising or buying experience within a quality branded product environment. -At least 3 year of people leadership experience. -Bachelor and above qualifications; Master the relevant methodologies of market research and user research, and have keen market insight. -Good market knowledge on raw materials; Strong understanding of manufacturing processes. -Lead a team of 3-4 and work with multiple stakeholders.
