- Responsibilities • Perform day to day accounts payable transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data into the AP system in a timely manner. • Execute various Operation Accounting daily/weekly tasks, including but not limited to general ledger and DDA reconciliation, reclass/accrual/lease entries or any other assigned tasks within the required time frame. • Review and verify invoices coded to fixed assets and prepaids and record monthly depreciation/amortization journal entries and reconciliations. • Review and verify invoices and check requests for satisfactory payment approval. • Verify and calculate all distributions (including sales taxes) and totals on invoices. • Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items. • Understand the Bank’s expense accounts and cost centers to verify AP invoice general ledger coding. • Perform trend analysis on bank’s non-interest expense accounts. • Assign AP workflow to appropriate cost centers based on types of vendors and nature of services rendered. • Generate reports detailing accounts payables status from AP system. • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues. • Correspond with vendors/vendor owners within the Bank and respond to inquiries/statements • Provide supporting documentation to supervisors as needed. • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information. Qualifications • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Strong analytical and organizational skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team • Proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts pertaining to the Accounts Payable and employee expense reimbursement processes.
