Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Brand Security and Anti-Counterfeiting Director, the Brand Protection Manager will perform a variety of tasks relating to the security and enforcement of Pernod Ricard intellectual property rights in China. Key Responsibilities and Job-Related Characteristics: Ø Responsible for the coordination of the Pernod Ricard strategy to fight against counterfeit in China (within the framework of the specific Group project codenamed “Blue Lotus”), developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of the scale and nature of the counterfeiting threat across China, producing key performance reports and recommendations about strategic priorities. Ø Work hand in hand with the AACS (Alliance Against Counterfeit Spirits) and law enforcement and regulatory agencies, providing training in counterfeit recognition, sharing information about counterfeiting activities, supporting the agencies in carrying out inspections and raids, and with formal identification of seized counterfeit products and the detection and prosecution of offenders. Ø Work closely with a pool of law firms to coordinate or lead administrative, civil and criminal intellectual property disputes, follow-up complaints and ensure perfect coordination between all stakeholders of the “Blue Lotus” strategy. Ø Organize regular seminars and workshops on Brand Protection in China and represent Pernod Ricard in official visits and meetings with key stakeholders at the national and local levels; communicate Pernod Ricard’s positions in public presentations. Ø Contribute to a smooth communication between Pernod Ricard Headquarters and Brand Companies as well as Pernod Ricard China legal function IP and Brand Protection team who plays a COE role to collaborate with internal key stakeholders. (Technology, Transformation, Logistics, Sales, Marketing, External and Public Affairs, Communications, etc). Ø Develop an effective data-driven brand protection strategy through the day-to-day management and administration of databases (investigations, raids, legal follow-up, connected bottles monitoring) and internet monitoring strategy. Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Ø Minimum of 5 years’ experience in law enforcement, private investigation, legal and public affairs or international commercial work in China Ø A track record as an effective manager is required, being able to think strategically, and to plan and operate tactically, paying attention to detail and to the bigger picture. Ø Strong IT on business intelligence, data management. Ø Strong public relations skills Ø Proficient Chinese and English a must
