RESPONSIBILITIES: Leading a global team of bioinformatics analysts in building tools and pipelines for standardized and scalable NGS data analysis projects. Leading the team’s efforts in communicating with customers and collaborators for developing innovative bioinformatics solutions. Serving as knowledge source for bioinformatics applications to multiple cross-department groups in technology and business development. Collaborating with lab scientists in experimental design, execution, analysis, and validation for development of proprietary NGS application platforms and product lines. Working with internal IT team in developing cloud-based applications for genomics data analysis.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics or related fields, with 3+ years of experience in NGS or array data analysis, or equivalent combination of education and working experience; industry and/or overseas experience as a plus. Knowledge of core molecular biology and genetics; understanding of principles and wet-lab procedures of current next-generation sequencing platforms. Proved expertises in software engineering with programming/scripting languages such as perl/python, java, etc.; experience in R or other statistical software packages; understanding database design. Substantial experience in major NGS data analysis algorithms, tools, and related databases, and demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing tools and pipelines for NGS data analysis. Familiarity in working with and maintenance of server and multi-node compute cluster infrastructures; cloud development framework experience is a big plus. Strong motivations and managing skills for leading a team of young professional analysts; Sense of responsibilities and awareness of deadlines in a customer-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
