Key Responsibilities Pre-sales activities • Work with proposal team and sales as needed for overall scope definition to support accurate proposals. • Provide overall IPP Project Manager and Project Engineer hours, along with appropriate travel costs depending on the customer expectations. • Support sales on calls as needed with customer/channel to define execution strategy. • Provide overall schedule in MS project to be included with the proposal. • Provide guidance and support for business logging process (Various BU’s, 3rd party, direct and channel orders). • Support 3rd party supplier selection and provide guidance on overall IPP project risk. • Collaborate as required with various BU resources on scope questions. Post-Order activities • Support logging strategy, ensuring proper SAP information is documented in sharepoint, along with PCOTs flag. • Provide single point of contact for customer as defined in pre-order execution strategy. • Manage internal and external suppliers to IPP scope (behave as RA EPC PM). • Provide normal reports and support customer scheduling and invoicing as detailed in commercial documents. • Schedule appropriate project related travel with appropriate resources including necessary customer FAT’s in RA facilities as well as RA supplier/partner facilities (eg. Switchgear/Transformer/E-house). • Manage change between all parties. • Identify potential scope missed during project and be opportunistic to improve scope and value to customer via RA solutions. • Manage facets of project including appropriate close-outs and setup of warranty and service support after commissioning. • Be viewed as customer champion while maintaining project deliverables and maintaining overall RA profitability. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Functional • Be responsible for assigned project managing and reporting. • Very frequent travel in China • Work at non-RA office environment Interpersonal • Must be a good communicator both verbal and written • Identify and solve problems in a group environment. • Highly frequent English speaker • Negotiation under commercial circumstances. Business • Must stress cost reduction and eliminate redundant processes. Ensures thorough familiarity with policies and procedures the importance of standards for business conduct. • Appropriately applies project methodology and industrial knowledge to support sales, BU team to pursuit opportunities. Leadership • Must lead by example in design quality, dedication to customer satisfaction, continuing education, and improving order margin. • Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering or equivalent knowledge. • Minimum 10 years of experience in process automation or application engineering project management experience. • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified. • Demonstrated success at simultaneously managing multiple complex customer deliveries. • Extensive experience with direct customer contact is required. • Excellent conflict resolution and people interface skills. • Manage large multi-million turnkey project experience including multi-vendors and third-party supply.
