JOB TITLE: Head of Strategy CLIENT ACCOUNT(S): Multi Clients REPORTING TO: Head of Strategy, China BASED AT: OMG Group, Beijing Office JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Head of Strategy Reporting Structure 1. Reports directly to China Head of Strategy. 2. Will work alongside a team communications planners, strategists, insights, business intelligence, and digital strategy resources. 3. Will play a key role in the development of client brand businesses and the strategic and insights offering to clients. Base of Operation • Located at OMG Group Beijing • Responsible for strategic product delivery and quality control of the work PHD Beijing on key accounts SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT The Strategy, Insights and Intelligence teams lead thought-leadership OMG China and its networks. These teams are responsible for developing key insights and nurturing clear visions in business and communications planning for clients and defining the appropriate measurement benchmarks and success criteria. This will require adoption of, proficiency in, and application of PHD Worldwide’s leading edge operating system – SOURCE. In addition, this person will play a key role in discussions around the development and evolution of the SOURCE OS. This team is therefore tasked with building a recognized market-leading position in strategic-thinking and creativity to drive PHDs positioning as the most innovative (thought leadership) media and marketing business in the market. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Contribution to the most innovative and creative communications community in China’s media services - Adoption of SOURCE and its local evolution. - Development of proprietary creative development workshops built on SOURCE. - Application of all necessary tools and mechanics, on a continuous basis.  Leadership on Comms Planning and Strategic Product delivery for key brands and client businesses o Overseeing annual planning, contribute to global strategy development, facilitation of strategic work and workshops, ideation and thought leadership across the entire communications planning spectrum.  Ensure strong through put of strategy into content o Clearly define content opportunities and work with content/ innovation team to ensure strategic approach to content is followed through.  Help develop relationships with key PHD Worldwide and regional resources relevant to the Strategy community o Identify developments available for import. POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AREA  Development and direction of ‘insight’ resources (with Insights Director). - Syndicated research. - Integration of Proprietary systems (regional). - Development of Proprietary strategic resources (local) - Ensure integration and development of digitally led insights utilizing OMG strategic business units, and key digital partnerships (Alibaba, Tencent, others) - Develop unique strategic sources and manage internal discipline. - Lead and develop key supplier relationships in this area. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT 1. Contribute to the accomplishment of the Comms Planning / Strategy Team’s mission. 2. Engagement with and involvement in an effective and integrated strategic community. 3. Adoption and evolution of proprietary planning tools and learnings. 4. Thought leaderships and award winning case studies prepared. LIKELY PROFILE (BUT NOT FIXED) • Minimum 10+ years of working experience in advertising, media, research or brand communication-related industry • University graduation or above • Proficiency in English • Profound knowledge and understanding in brand communications, advertising • Experienced brand, communications, or media strategist, able to confidently lead teams through the entire strategic process • Proficiency in media planning and digital media • Excellent analysis skills of syndicated and other research sources and some ability manipulating data • Experience in qualitative research and / or group facilitation preferred. • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Good in logical thinking and able to present ideas clearly • Open-minded, embrace creativity and able to think out of the box • Able to envision market and industry trends • Able to work under dynamic environment and stressful situations; • Able to challenge existing norms and practices This individual will be: • Intelligent and informed. • Experienced. • Creative • Confident and charismatic • Leader-like. • Business savvy • Disciplined and detailed • Maybe a little bit crazy
