职位描述:

Job Scope:
The Manager Software/Hardware Development Engineer conceives, applies and implements product design concepts and unique solutions involving specific products and applications. The incumbent coordinates the introduction of methods, tools, technologies and processes with the project team; develops and synthesizes system/mechanical requirements; provides internal consultative support to the technical organization and product development teams; develops, acquires and implements new technological capabilities; appraises new products, applications and/or process proposals; and leads and/or participates in multi-functional product research and development teams as well as product and/or system design reviews.

Job Responsibilities:
• Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
• Formulates changes in development, maintenance and systems standard
• Formulates/monitors single project plan and may lead a multi-functional project
• May serve as the Engineering project lead with knowledge of the development process, design control and basic Regulatory issues
• May be the key contact for outside application/technology providers
• Adheres to technical standards
• Recommends and leads process improvements
• Provides mentorship to junior scientists; reviews and approve junior scientist’s work
• Adheres to policies and procedures
• Exercises independent judgment
• Develops advanced concepts and designs for complex issues
• May serve as a hiring manager
• Resolves (with limited direction) complex manufacturing discrepancies
• Begins to apply knowledge and experience in instrument theory of operation to achieve work objectives
• Begins to broaden professional expertise by studying related disciplines and innovations in the larger technological arena
• Begins to consider interpersonal issues, external factors, and customer perspective when making decisions.
• May provide direction and mentorship in design, development and application of new technologies. Begins to elaborates technical strategy and promotes introduction of methods, tools, processes and technologies. Mentors and provides ongoing teaching, guidance and assistance to technical staff in area(s) of expertise.
• Attends external seminars and visits customers and other companies to continue learning.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in field with 10+ years exp.
• Individual contributor specialist with broad understanding of work concepts, principles and practices
• Begins to use knowledge to expand on standard techniques and processes
• in creative and effective ways
• Applies broad knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts in chosen field and employs sound project management
• Guides the successful completion of minor to moderate programs, processes and/or projects for the department/function, and often takes on a project leadership role
• Effects of decisions are long-lasting
• Decisions and results have impact on function and/or moderate
• Impact on organization’s resources and objectives
• Meet regulatory requirements and establish policies and procedures
• Begins to Integrate research, information and trends into solutions to identify and tackle complex problems that require evaluation of variables and the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
• Works with general direction and acts as contributor in own area of knowledge
• May provide mentorship to lower-level employees
